"Bleacher Preacher" Updates his "Cub-mandments"! |
As good baseball fans, we all know that a good double play combination can make the difference between a good season and a great season... A hundred years ago a few guys named Tinker, Evers and Chance comes to mind.
At the 2008 Cubs Home Opener, I came equipped with my $am Zell Voodoo Doll, to give Cubs...(and baseball fans) the opportunity to stick it to the new owner of the Cubs... primarily because he stated that he was going to sell the naming rights of Wrigley Field. While I was in front of the "friendly Confines", I was impressed with a group of fans gathering signatures and directing fans to their www.KeepItWrigley.org website.
So I thought maybe, we could work together as a Double Play Combo... for this worthy cause. After speaking to their President, Joe Sroczynski it became official, and to mark the occasion, I have decided to update my "10 Cub-mandments", changing #2 to now read, "HONOR THY NAME, KEEP IT WRIGLEY FIELD! "
Let's make this a winning season by doing our part to keep the sacred name of Wrigley Field intact now and in the future.
...Jerry Pritikin (a.k.a. "The Bleacher Preacher")

What's "Keep It Wrigley" all about? |
If you believe like we do, that Wrigley Field should remain named Wrigley Field, REGISTER on this site to show your support and become part of the "Keep It Wrigley" community.
The Chicago Cubs franchise and Wrigley Field are currently for sale. There is a real possibility that, as part of this process, the naming rights for Wrigley Field may be sold. It doesn't matter what the money is used for, the name will be lost forever!
The purpose of the "Keep It Wrigley" web site is to provide a common voice for anyone who has ever enjoyed a visit to Wrigley Field and wants to express their desire for Wrigley Field to remain Wrigley Field.
Our goal is to make it known that we believe the best route to success with Wrigley Field is to retain and embrace its history; there are many Wrigley fans who would prefer the name to remain Wrigley Field. New and creative ways to generate revenue from the ballpark can be found while maintaining Wrigley Field as an icon of baseball history.
To accomplish this goal we all need to work together to be heard - every voice adds to the volume. If that volume is loud enough, someone will listen.
So, don't forget... REGISTER and SIGN THE PETITION.
